Social Studies

History of Manitoba:

  • Cree and Ojibwe pre-contact with the newcomers
  • food, homes, tools, ceremonies
  • Contact with the newcomers
  • policies which affected the Indigenous Peoples: Indian Act, Treat

Geography of Canada: physical geography of Manitoba and Canada, including the political boundaries and geographic regions of Canada.

Living in Canada: government, leadership, and power, including concepts related to citizenship and democracy. This study includes a focus on national, provincial, and territorial symbols, monuments, and commemorative days.

Canada’s North: physical and human geography, which includes a focus on stories, traditions, and changes in ways of life in Canada’s North.

Living in Manitoba: physical and natural environment, people, places, and communities of Manitoba.

Science

Light; Sound; Rocks, Minerals, & Erosion; Habitats & Communities

Math:

Graphs, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, 2D shapes, 3D objects, measurement, time, money
