Welcome to Room 210 Grade 3/4! 

My name is Kerry Sweett and I will be your child's classroom teacher the 2024-25 school year. 

The following is a brief overview of our learning areas for this school year:

Social Studies

The focus will be on the diversity of communities in Canada. We will start with studying our own community and then move on to other communities. The units we will study are:

  • Connecting with Canadians
  • Exploring the World
  • Communities of the World
  • Exploring an Ancient Society

Science

The science curriculum focuses on inquiry and problem solving. Students will be asking questions, making predictions, conducting  experiments and completing design projects. The units we will study are:

  • Materials and Structures
  • Forces that Attract or Repel
  • Growth and Changes in Plants
  • Habitats and Communities

Health

This year we will be learning how to manage our emotions, healthy lifestyles, and how to be safe in and outside of school (including online). Some programs we will be using are:

  • Kids in the Know
  • Second Step

Seesaw

Students will be using Seesaw to create a digital portfolio of their learning to share with you.

Attendance

It is important for your child to attend school and to be on time. Please call the school or use safe arrival if they will be away.
