Sharing Community Information with Schools
September 16, 2025
As part of our efforts to foster community engagement, Winnipeg School Division accepts requests from local organizations to share information with our schools and families. Approved materials are posted on the Employee Portal (staff-only), where teachers and administrators can decide how best to share the information with families.
What we can share
- Information for students that is educational or recreational
- Fundraising opportunities that benefit schools
What we can’t share
- Commercial advertising of products and services
- Political messages
- Religious messages
How to send us your information
Email materials to communications@wsd1.org. Please send one PDF file only. Multiple attachments or other file formats can’t be accepted.
We do not print or deliver materials to our schools. If approved, an organization can contact schools at its own time to discuss the best way to distribute materials.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I drop off flyers at schools?
No. Materials must go through the approval process with the Communications Services Team first. If approved, you may deliver printed copies to schools or contact them via our School Directory.
How will families see my information?
Once approved, materials are posted on the Employee Portal. School staff choose how/if to share information in newsletters, by email, or by sending it home with students.
