R.B. Russell Basketball Court Grand Opening – September 13, 2025

Winnipeg School Division is proud to invite students, families, and community members to celebrate the grand opening and official unveiling of the newly redesigned basketball court at R.B. Russell Vocational High School.

The new court features a vibrant, community-inspired design by Blake Angeconeb, an Anishinaabe Woodlands artist who hails from Treaty 3 Territory. This project was made possible through a partnership with Buckets & Borders, WarriorZ, and the Winnipeg Sea Bears, in collaboration with R.B. Russell students.

Join us for a day of celebration and the court’s official unveiling.

Event Schedule

11:00 a.m. – Youth programming and opening remarks
12:00 p.m. – Food trucks
12:30 p.m. – Games, competitions, and giveaways
2:00 p.m. – Community All-Star Game
3:00 p.m. – Open pick-up game
