It has been a great first month of school in room 36. We have had such a fun time getting to know each other in our morning meetings and closing circles. We have collectively come up with our classroom treaty. In writing we have started off with writing about favorite moments from summertime and have also begun are story experiential program thru Pixar where students are able to design and animate their own stories. 

In math we have begun looking at addition and subtraction and will be moving on to skip counting and multiplication this month. In science we have been exploring different habitats and food webs and the roles each part plays. In social studies we have begun exploring Canadian identity and have looked at Canadian symbolism and have done an art project where students made their own totem poles. We have also started up with our reading groups in readers workshops.
