Work Experience Placements

  • Work placement is a means of achieving teaching/learning goals, objectives, and/or outcomes within existing courses. Work placement is not a course, but rather attached to other credit courses. Any course is able to incorporate a work placement provided the teacher is connecting to curriculum.

To ensure safety and maintain proper communication between students, guardians, teachers and the various placements, it is important that certain information is collected. All students applying to participate in the above programs must complete the following forms:

Resources and Partnerships

  • myBlueprint is a Canadian made online Career Exploration Tool that is used in all Grade 7 to 12 schools. Students need their MET number to create their account, please speak with your Career Advisor for more information.
  • Safe Workers of Tomorrow (SWOT) teaches Grade 9 and 10 students about the rights of workers, how to spot a hazard and employment standards in Manitoba.
  • Youth Employment Services provides our students with a variety of workshops to help them get the skills they need to enter the workforce.
  • Apprenticeship Manitoba is the governing body for all apprentices in Manitoba and is working with schools to engage students in careers in the trades.
  • High School Apprenticeship Program Information.
  • Opportunities for Employment offer employment services for youth and young adults.
  • MB Student Aid has a variety of supports for getting students into post-secondary programs.
