Visitor Access

January 19, 2026

We all share a responsibility for ensuring the safety and security of the students, staff, and guests. It is important to know who, where, and how individuals enter the school.

Procedures are as follows:

  • Students will be greeted by teachers and accompanied into the school at 8:55 and 12:55. Late students, visitors, and anyone without a key card will buzz into the office through the vestibules for entry. They will be directed to the office.
  • Main entrance doors will be monitored by video and at the office. Entry will be permitted after guests buzz into the office once reception is able to verify the identity of the visitor.
  • Signage will be placed at locked doors directing visitors to the main entrance doors. Signs will be posted inside the school to direct visitors to the office. Staff will assist in directing wandering guests to the office.
  • Visitors and volunteers must report to the school office upon arrival. Those who remain in the building must sign in, indicating date and time of arrival and sign out at departure.
  • All visitors, including parents, should remain at the office and should not have access to classrooms or be allowed to wander the hallways.
  • Caregivers who are picking up students at irregular times must sign out the student at the office.
  • All exterior doors will be locked at all times. Students are not permitted to open the door to people outside the building. If a staff member opens the door to a visitor, parent, or student, they must escort them to the office and have that person sign in.
  • Volunteers are required to wear a volunteer identification tag; visitors are required to wear visitor tags. Visiting divisional employees must wear WSD approved identification.
  • Reception will contact staff to let them know that their guest has arrived. Visitors must be escorted to their desired location by a staff member.
