At Queenston School, the "Orff" approach to teaching music is utilized. It is based on the teachings of the German music educator Carl Orff. The emphasis of this approach to teaching music is on the involvement of the whole person. Music is taught through active participation in movement, rhythm, singing, form analysis, orchestration, drama, canon and speech.
 
All children at Queenston School receive two music classes per six day cycle and participate in Primary Choir (grades 1-3) or Senior Choir (grades 4-6). All grades 3-6 students also have the opportunity to sing in our extra-curricular noon-hour choir. Music is definitely in the air at Queenston!  Please contact Mrs. Klassen with any questions.
