Health Needs
November 3, 2021
Please inform the school if your child requires health care supports. Winnipeg School Division policy requires that a form completed by a medical doctor accompany the parent/guardian request for any medication to be administered to students at school. A Personal Health Care Plan will be developed for all students with special health needs. Forms are available upon request from the school office.
Children with Life Threatening Allergies
Clifton School follows the Winnipeg School Division policy regarding children with known risk of anaphylaxis/life threatening allergies.
Your cooperation is asked to avoid sending items, which contain peanuts, nuts or another food if there is a child with a life-threatening allergy in your child’s classroom and/or lunch program. Please understand how important a role you play, and how much your support is appreciated by all who are entrusted with the safety of our children.

Accidents/Illness
Parents will be notified by phone of any accident or illness at school. In the event of an accident, which leads to student injury, staff trained in First Aid will assess the injury and take appropriate action. In an emergency situation, when a parent cannot be contacted, the school will phone for an ambulance or to take a child for medical attention at a hospital.
It is requested that children who are ill are kept home until they get better. This is to ensure a speedy recovery and hopefully decrease the spread of germs.
Parents/guardians are asked to inform the school of any changes to contact information, including emergency contacts in the case of an emergency.
Accident Insurance
It is highly recommended that students are fully covered through their family insurance or through the Winnipeg School Division’s recommended Accident Insurance. Forms are sent home at the beginning of the school year and are available through the school office.
