Youth in Philanthropy (YiP) is a school committee designed to introduce motivated young people to philanthropy and local community development. This program gives students hands-on experience working  as a team and with local charitable organizations.

How It Works
Each committee receives $6,000 from The Winnipeg Foundation to distribute to charities of your choice. As a committee you decide on your areas of focus, goals and criteria. You will research charities that meet your criteria and learn more about what they do by visiting them and interviewing people who work there.

Why join YiP
Through YiP you’ll gain skills that will last a lifetime and learn about some amazing people and organizations doing powerful work to make our community better.

Black History Club

Room 201
R. Bray

This is a student-led group dedicated to celebrating, honoring, and amplifying Black history, culture, and excellence year-round. We recognize that Black history is not just a part of the past—it’s a powerful and living legacy that continues to shape our communities, schools, and the world today. Through events, discussions, art, performances, and collaborations, we aim to highlight the resilience, creativity, leadership, and contributions of Black people, both historically and in the present day.

This club provides a space where students can share their voices, experiences, and perspectives in meaningful ways. It is about building community, fostering understanding, and encouraging unity and respect among all students. By creating opportunities for dialogue, education, and celebration, the Black History Club empowers students to lead change, challenge stereotypes, and inspire pride in identity and heritage. Student voice is at the heart of everything we do—because when students speak, schools grow stronger.
