Graduation Requirements

Students in Grades 9-12 receive their high school standing through the credit system. A credit is granted upon the successful completion of a 110 hour course. A minimum of 30 credits are needed to gain high school standing (diploma) in Manitoba. 

Credits fall into two categories:
 Compulsory Course - a course for which students must receive credit (e.g. English, math, social studies, physical education, etc.)
 Optional Course - a course that students may choose based on their interests, abilities, values and career goals

Students who are a part of the French Milieu program at Collège Churchill High School must also successfully complete at least 21 of their total credits in French language instruction (75% target) in order to obtain a French immersion diploma or certificate.

Students and parents/guardians are encouraged to discuss credit requirements with our school guidance counsellor and their teachers.
